It is the mission of Mush For a Cure to raise awareness of and raise funds to find a cure for  breast cancer through annual pledge/tribute runs by dog team.

What is Mush For a Cure? Mush For a Cure is a non-competitive sled dog FUNdraiser with proceeds donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Mush For a Cure is not a race, it is a fun event to celebrate the sport of dog mushing and to cap off a winter of hard work, training and racing while raising funds to find a cure for breast cancer.

The totals have been tallied. Between musher pledges (over $30,000), sponsorships, head shaving and general donations, the 2012 Mush for a Cure will be sending a check to the foundation for….

Most, but not all of the 53 participants that raised over $29,000 in pledges and monies are still coming in!. We waited until AFTER the awards to get the finishers picture and unfortunately some of our mushers had already left.

$41,000!!!

On behalf of all the organizers of Mush for a Cure, we want to send out a heartfelt thank you  to the mushers, volunteers, sponsors, spectators and everyone that makes this event a success. Thank you to the mushers for all their hard work in raising pledges, taking the time to come to our event, being such great sports and accepting what Mother Nature threw at them without complaining and helping each other out when the trail throws you a curve ball (like extra handlers driving another teams truck to the finish so families can run together on the trail or borrowing someone a sled when theirs breaks!). Again, thank you to everyone that had a hand in putting this even together. You are a special group of people and it is YOU that makes this event so successful.
