DRUMROLL PLEASE!!! The participants in the 2013 Mush for a Cure
Bald, Brave and Beautiful(?) competition are…..
On the left we have Ana Genz…our FIRST FEMALE participant! Ana is a 17-year breast cancer survivor and was our 2012 honoree! Ana will first be having her long hair cut to be donated to Locks of Love which will be followed by having her head shaved! Her personal fundraising goal is $6000! Help Ana reach her goal by clicking on the link below!
We also have Cook County locals Corey Christianson (middle) and Craig Horak (right) as our traditional male participants. This year the guys are shooting to combine their efforts to raise as much as Ana while they also try to out-fundraise each other!
Corey and his wife Rachelle and their two adorable children live “up the trail” (THE Gunflint Trail) about 40 miles from downtown Grand Marais. Corey is popular Gunflint Trail fishing guide, who works for MFAC Emcee Michael Valentini when he’s not guiding clients. Corey also writes an weekly article for the Cook County “Tales from the Trail” a commentary of things happening along and the fun and struggles of living 40 miles from the nearest grocery store and gas station! Craig is the owner the Tire and Auto Lodge located in Grand Marais. Craig and his wife Ellen (who is the MFAC Veterinarian!), have built their dream house a cliff on Lake Superior near Tofte.
